Resurrection’s History

  • April 28, 1978 – Resurrection Lutheran  Church was accepted into the Synodical Membership
  • February 20, 1979 – Contract to purchase the present church site and St. Francis Catholic buildings.
  • November 4, 1979 – Pastor Paul Kibler was ordained and installed.
  • January 10, 1982 – First worship service on the present site.
  • June 1982 – Pastor Kibler was installed as full-time pastor.
  • October 1983 – Rev. Howard Schoenfeldt served as vacancy pastor.
  • July 29, 1984 – Rev. James Stoltenberg was installed as Resurrection’s 2nd Pastor.
  • September 11, 1985 – First mid-week school opens.
  • October 12, 1986 – Voters approved building present facility.
  • 1987-1988 Carenet was founded in a cooperative effort between Pastor Stoltenburg and local churches.
  • November 1989 – The old church building was demolished and construction begun on current church building. – worship services were held at St. Francis Catholic Church.
  • June 23, 1991 – Dedication service of the present church building was held. – Rev. Richard Hintz, SED President gave message.
  • 1992Rev. Lee Steffens served as Interim Pastor.
  • 1994Rev. Walter Schoech served as Interim Pastor.
  • September 1994Rev. Gary Brown was installed as Resurrection’s 3rd Pastor.
  • 2008 – 2009Rev. Lee Steffens, Rev. Dr. James Roseman and Rev. David Ludwig served as vacancy Pastors.
  • October 4, 2009Rev. John Brunner was installed as Resurrection’s 4th Pastor.
  • July 15, 2017Rev. Patrick F. O’Neal was installed as Resurrection’s 5th Pastor. – Rev. John Brunner continues as Pastor Emeritus.
  • January 22, 2023 – Rev. Glenn Roseman was installed as Resurrection’s 6th Pastor.
